Out with the old, in with the new

With just a few minutes remaining in 2007, I thought I’d make a quick post to close out the year.

It’s been a struggle at times, but I’m finally at the halfway point of grad school. I’ve gotten my theory and method requirements done, and I’m starting to figure out what I’m going to do for my thesis (spring 2009). I’ve still got a lot of thinking to do about how to go about answering the questions I’ve been kicking around in my head, but it’s good to get a head start on preparing for the thesis.

We’ve been in the process of working on the condo, and things are finally starting to come together. I’m inordinately excited about our recent purchase of a new desk and chair—it’s nice to have a functional home office. There’s more renovation stuff on tap for 2008, including the kitchen and possibly replacing the carpet with wood flooring. (Yes, this is the kind of stuff you get excited about when you own a home.)

After spending more than a week in Tucson, we’ve been readjusting to life in Arlington and we’re ready to tackle work, school and life—not necessarily in that order—in the new year. Here’s to a good start!
